Space Micro proposes an aggressive, but achievable, space image processing and radiation effects experiment to demonstrate an advanced COTS processor and Single Board Computer (SBC) in the MISSE-FF space radiation environment. Space Micro will focus on the rapid development of a COTS-based SBC with electronics monitoring and SEU/SEFI error reporting system for delivery to Alpha Space for MISSE-FF deployment and 6 month mission.
Our cross-cutting space product will enable current and potential NASA space missions. NASA Artemins missions are prime candidates, including the Human Landing System (HLS) and CLPS payloads ans landers. . JUICE, WFIRST, NISAR, Lucy, Psyche, IXPE, Restore, Hermes, Whipple, TiME, Hera, Chopper, etc. which encompass both Discovery-class and SMEX missions. Future NIAC missions could benefit such as KST, PuFF, LEAVES, R-MXAS.
The cross-cutting space subsystem product evolving from this SBIR can be scaled both in size and parts grade to accommodate a wide range of space customers., including emerging commercial constellations, DoD space mission applications for small satellites, including more of focus on proliferated SmallSats in LEO, and international space programs (ESA, ISRO, JAXA, CONAE, etc.)
